E.S.P. was composed by Wayne Shorter and recorded in 1965 by the second great Miles Davis quintet, which included them both, in addition to Herbie Hancock (piano), Ron Carter (bass), and Tony Williams (drums).

The title is the initials of “Extra Sensory Perception”, and refers to the musical communication that existed between the members of the band.
